Tryfon leads the Project Management Office (PMO), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Technical Authors, Information Security, Information Management, IT Operations, Software Engineering and Platform Engineering teams.

He joined GÉANT in 2013 from the Greek NREN (GRNET) where, as Chief Technology Officer, he developed research networking and cloud infrastructure and services for the Greek community. Tryfon has been a member of the National Research and Education Network Policy Committee (NRENPC), the TERENA General Assembly, and the Future Internet Forum. He has also served as a delegate for Greece to the European Space Agency and the e-Infrastructure Reflection Group (e-IRG), as well as having a role in the EGI and PRACE councils. In his current role as Chief Operating Officer, Tryfon oversees the Information and Technology Services as well the Project Management Office with more than 20 projects including GN5-2 and GN5-IC1.
